New Beginnings

27th Aug 2020

We have absolutely loved our first week back in Holy Family P.S. so far - everyone is so thankful to be back to a little bit of normality. It has been a joy to see our boys and girls again and watch them interact with their friends.

This week, P6/7 were tasked to write a prayer for new beginnings. We spent some time reflecting on the last few months and what we would like to pray for in the coming 2020/21 school year. Every single one of them wrote beautiful, reflective and meaningful prayers and we were so delighted to be able to give out our first Principal's Award of the school year. This wonderful P.6 boy almost brought us to tears with his amazing self-written prayer. Well done! I'm sure you'll agree it is so poignant. Read below:

'God our loving Father,

We pray for world peace; may war stop and peace begin again.

We pray for world hunger; may all be full.

We pray for all viruses to be gone; may the world be safe.

We pray for homeless people; may they not suffer on the streets.

May we pray for the ones who have passed on, that they have a good time in Heaven.

May we pray for the ones who work hard; may they receive a promotion.

We pray for dog shelters; may they all be adopted into loving homes.

We pray for our teachers and staff, may things be easy on them.

We pray for friendship; may everyone be friends.

We pray and give thanks to God for giving us life.

Amen'
