200 Years of Education!

25th Oct 2023
?200 Year Celebrations in Holy Family PS, Aughamullan?
Last night marked a truly momentous occasion for the Aughamullan community and indeed the wider parish of Clonoe, as we celebrated this wonderful occasion of 200 years of education.
We began our celebrations with a beautiful, poignant Mass in St. Patrick's Church, Clonoe celebrated by Canon Fee and Fr John McCallion. Our children and extended families made such a fantastic contribution to our Mass, through choir, readings and gift bearing. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Mary Hanna for her time and magical musicality that really added to the occasion. ?
We then took a trip down memory lane back at the school, where our community got the chance to look at old photos and chat about memories of our school, reminiscing on days gone by. A huge thank you must be extended to Cllr Malachy Quinn - SDLP Torrent, for his eloquent presentation on the history of the school. We also unveiled a commemorative plaque marking this occasion, and we also planted a beautiful yellow rose known as 'The Pilgrim' which will grow for years to come, hopefully just like the education provided here.
A special thank-you to all those who helped make this occasion such a memorable one, with thanks especially to everyone at Falls Bar for their amazing catering and hospitality on the night.
It was an amazing night for so many reasons and we are forever grateful to everyone for coming and showing their support for our school. ???
