Today our Primary 6 and 7 had a super Numeracy session, involving unifix cubes to explore volume of cubes and cuboids. They had to calculate different volumes of different shapes using the length, breadth and height of their sides. Our Primary 6 children identified the amount of cubes it took and began to explore patterns and formulas, whilst the Primary 7s extended their learning to using a formula to calculate larger volumes.
They were then challenged to investigate and create different cuboids with the same volume, with the winning groups earning points for their house teams!
