Tesco:Eat Happy Project (P1-P4)

Primary 1 and 2's talk about their day out at Tesco's

On Tuesday 28th April a very fancy bus arrived to take P1,2,3 and 4 to Tesco. The bus driver had a microphone and he talked very loudly. He didn’t know how to get Tesco so Max and Callum had to show him the way.

When we got to Tesco the security man put a little tag on a basket. When Finn tried to take the basket outside the tag made the alarms go off. The security guard ran after Finn and grabbed him by the collar and dragged him back.

We walked right to the back of the shop and then we went through some big doors where only the workers are allowed to go. There is a huge store in the back with huge trolleys. There is a huge fridge and a massive freezer. We went into the freezer and the lady told us not to put our tongue on anything or it would stick to it!

The ladies gave us some aprons and some hats and some clipboards. Then we went to look at the fruit and vegetables. We tasted avocado. Sometimes it is called alligator fruit. Nobody liked the avocado but most people liked the pomegranate and the blueberries.

Off we went to the bakery. We were very lucky because we got into the bakery and we got to taste wheaten bread and cheese bread and onion bread. Aoibhe and Conor got to make pancakes. They poured the batter on to a huge griddle and Mrs McKernan flicked them over.
