Today in primary 5 our boys and girls were very busy engaging in active learning. We have been exploring compass points, or directionality, as navigation indicators.
These are based on a 360° circle, with four primary Cardinal points (North, East, South, West) providing the main orientation.
We also had lots of outdoor practical activities investigating intercardinal points (NE, SE, SW, NW) etc.
With our connected learning we also explored,clockwise, anti clockwise, half turns etc. We had fun reciting and creating rhymes to help us remember the cardinal directions." Never Eat Soggy Waffles" a great mnemonic for map skills.
