Our Vision
Holy Family P.S, Aughamullan provides a curriculum designed to meet the requirements of the Northern Ireland Revised Curriculum and to give a broad and balanced education to all children with experiences suitable to their current stages of development.
We, as a Catholic School aim to provide a safe and happy teaching and learning environment in which the needs of pupils and staff are met with support and understanding.
We, in Holy Family P.S. aim to promote a caring, secure and warm environment in which every member feels valued and worthwhile. Underpinned by our Catholic faith, we strive to provide an ethos in which respect for diversity, tolerance and compassion is evident in our welcoming and stimulating environment. We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which develops the skills, concepts and knowledge necessary for future learning and living.
The school has a wide range of Pastoral Care policies and all staff members are fully committed to ensure that these policies are being implemented throughout the school. Holy Family P.S, Aughamullan is committed to the use of positive approaches in maintaining effective school discipline and creating a climate where positive behaviour is encouraged at all times and where all children feel secure and equally valued. The school’s involvement in the Personal Development and Mutual Understanding Programme reflects this. Strategies are in place to ensure that pupils develop relevant personal and social skills and understanding which help them to respond appropriately to situations affecting their well-being. The school is committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle by encouraging healthy snacks at break time and after-schools sports activities. Child Protection procedures are in line with statutory requirements and all staff have attended relevant training this year.
Holy Family P.S, Aughamullan has a wide and varied range of Afterschool Clubs. We have a Breakfast Club open from 8:15am and a Minding Service. There are a wide variety of clubs offered after school being delivered by the schools’ staff and a wide variety of Outside Agencies.
The pupils have a strong voice in this school via Our School Council and their opinions are very valued. We encourage all children to have good confidence and have their opinions listened to in a safe and secure setting. We also are an Eco- School with an Eco- Council.
The parents play a vital role in educating their children alongside the school. We have a very active, supportive Parent Support Group who organise a variety of fund-raising advents during the year, we encourage all parents to join/ support our Parent Support Group.
